The Biography "Witty Insights"

Trisha Witty is an artist from the Great Lakes, growing up on the shores of Lake Michigan. 
The small and quaint village of Harbor Springs, nestled on Little Traverse Bay,
 is where she has grown and developed her self-taught talent for over twenty years.

Witty began her career at a young age, selling her first oil at age fifteen, and opening her own exclusive gallery at age nineteen, in 1992.  Trisha balanced painting, running a business and attending the University of Michigan until graduating with three liberal arts degrees in 1995.  After college, Trisha began travelling extensively abroad, and spent three years in Miami Beach, working out of her SoBe studio in the winter, while running another gallery in Naples, Florida.  The majority of Witty's work concentrated on her travels to the Caribbean and Southern Florida landscapes. 

After her years spent in Florida, Witty decided to move on to capturing and challenging herself to new landscapes, which has led her to the California coastline for the last five winters.  Trisha has been exploring the state from North to South, painting the diversity through the mountains, vineyards,
deserts, and beaches, which makes California such a desirable place for a growing artist.  Through her travels and experiences, Witty has not only been absorbing the beauty and color of her subject matter, but the culture, arts, and essence of each community she resides in.   Her path has led her to an unbelievable growth and artistic success, which is unique to any other artist existing. Witty works exclusively in archival oils and creates each masterpiece with the strokes of a single palette knife. She pays close attention to detail and texture in each painting. Witty aims to capture and reflect the essence of the subject matter, with an energy that viewers truly empathize to.

Witty's career has taken her to all parts of the globe, with hundreds of paintings hung across the nation. Her enthusiasts and collectors have consistently grown, while her originals remain in high demand, increasing in value every year.  With her continued love for travel, growth and good energy, Witty will turn each canvas into a one of a kind masterpiece.  We invite you to share in the experience!
